Quick Shots: KHR! 203, Naruto 410
Mostly late and mostly spoiler-free!
KHR! 203: I want to say something meaningful about Hibari, Mukuro, Cloud vs. Mist, Hibari, vendettas, did I mention Hibari?
But it would have just been endless fangirl flailing, so. Just know that Hibari is in it, and he is kickass, and anyone who ships Hibari/Mukuro is going to be very, very happy.
Naruto 410: RAPPING JINCHUURIKI.
NO SERIOUSLY.
I CAN’T MAKE THIS SHIT UP.
RAPPING JINCHUURIKI.
Chrome/Nagi v.Hair
I was looking at some fanart of an older Chrome when the artist remarked that a lot of people were also drawing a TYL!Chrome with her hair parted on the left, unlike her younger self’s Mukuro-hairstyle.
I had a hunch and checked with the manga and yep: that hairstyle? Loose, parted on the left? It’s like Nagi’s.
So–what does this mean? Older Mukuro obviously has the ability to possess and use several bodies like he uses Chrome’s; he’s got Guido Greco who serves much the same purpose (or perhaps not–manga’s ambiguous whether the Guido that acted as Leonardo Lippi was totally under Mukuro’s control or acted like a second Chrome. Either way, Mukuro can at least manifest himself through various hosts.)
Does this mean that Chrome gains more autonomy from Mukuro? She seems to retain her loyalty to Mukuro; she attempts to break him out of the Vendichi with the aid of Chikusa and Ken. Does this TYL hairstyle reflect a general fan consensus that her older self regains a sense of herself as herself and not Mukuro’s pawn (hence the return to her autonomous “Nagi” self; the Mukuro-like hair seems to signify that she’s given all of herself to Mukuro)?
We haven’t seen TYL!Chrome in the manga yet, so this all conjecture and the feverish workings of my tired brain. Though I will say that my own preference is for this artist’s rendition of older!Chrome, with the longer hair that melds the Nagi and Mukuro hair. Signals more autonomy; also signals continuing loyalty and devotion to Mukuro.
Even if I’m overthinking this all, it is at least a strange coincidence. And also food for thought about how Chrome’s relationship to Mukuro might change as she grows and learns to maintain her illusory organs on her own.
Reaction Shots: KHR! 202
Man, I can’t remember when seeing that the latest chapter of a manga I’m following has been released last made me so excited. I mean, I’ve already seen spoilers and read a translation and I’m still bouncy for it–well, mentally at least; I’m too full to be literally bouncing off my walls. Oof. x___x
Beware! Spoilers abound!

Look, I even purposely let there be a gap between me reading and me writing about this chapter so I could write something reasonably intelligent.
That is how much I love this manga.
ONWARDS TO SPOILERS!

Oh look, me talking a lot. Mary seemed kind of subdued in this, toned down her shrieking and metaphor-making. Which was a good thing.
It’s long, so I’ll cut it. Because I am just that nice.
Oh Look, It’s Deviantart!
So. Version 6? HMMM.
1. The front page is radically different, the bar notifying about new deviations/messages is at the very top of the screen–however, it now persists where you go, which is a plus, should you happen to be engrossed in some gallery or the other and want to be able to keep on top of new submissions by the artists you’re watching.
2. However, the front page is now entirely taken up by recent submissions–the daily deviations, which are supposed to be honored pieces of art, are now pushed so low that they’re off screen, you have scroll down to see them. This seems counterproductive to the point of having DDs and having DDs on the front page in the first place.
3. I like that even non-subscribed viewers like me now have the ability to see little previews of new art and journals. I guess they’re trying to move some subscriber-only features to non-subscribers as well? I approve.
4. Gallery surfing seems to be pretty much the same.
And that’s about all I have to say.
